Journeys reads where your phone has been, matches your camera’s shots to it by capture time, and files each trip into its own album. The photos you took at home stay exactly where they are.
Nothing is moved or deleted. Journeys only ever creates albums and adds photos that are
already in your library to them. The worst a bad run can do is leave you a folder to drag to the trash.
What it does
Finds your trips automatically
Scans your library and groups photos into journeys by time and place. A journey is the span between leaving home and coming back, so a month touring stays one trip instead of eight city albums.
Your phone knows where, your camera knows when
Phones carry GPS, cameras don’t. The phone’s positions decide where a trip happened, capture time pulls in every shot your camera took there.
Home stays home
Works out where you live from your own library, and never turns everyday photos into an album. Several homes over the years are fine.
Corrects your camera’s clock
A camera left on home time files an afternoon in Rome under the previous evening. Journeys measures the offset against your phone and puts the shots back where they belong.
A calendar of your photo life
A year-at-a-glance heatmap of when you shot what, with every detected trip marked, so you can see at once which weeks became journeys.
Notes and voice memos
Add a written note to a trip, or just talk. Recordings are transcribed on your Mac, and both the audio and the text are kept and synced with the record.
Remembers what it filed
A ledger tracks every album it created, so a later scan can tell you what changed since: renamed, photos added or removed, album deleted.
Private by design
Country names come from boundary data bundled with the app, no lookup at all. One reverse geocode per trip adds a city, and nothing else ever leaves your Mac.
